Very windy and bloody cold!
Currently working behind the bar at the Norwich Deaf Club tonight. Pretty well so far with the bingo event earlier.
But am almost half asleep due to lack of sleep because of the loud party next door which lasted until 3am. :/
Roll on 11pm… Then i’m outta here to go home and get some shut eyes
The Good Thing about having a Day Off:
* You get to stay at home and not have to do any work related
* You can get lots of stuff done that you have been putting off for a while
* You can relax
* You can watch as many TV show as you like
* You can chat to friends over Ims
The only bad thing that happened today for me was having to do the house work, hoovering, washing up clothes and dishes. But at least the house is clean now.
For the past few days, my mobile phone has been ringing from the number 02920368797 and it’s starting to get VERY annoying as I can not pick it up and talk. It would be about 3 or 4 times a day. Every ring, I press the Ignore button.
Yesterday, they did it again and I decided enough’s enough and called them using the number above via Typetalk and ask what is going on.
It turned out they are a company called Communications Direct and are focused on selling mobie phone contracts/upgrades. But nothing to do with T-Mobile as that’s who I am currently with. And I remembered that I’d already asked them to remove my number from them. So why the calls again?
Here’s the edited version of my phone call to them:
>> is Me
< < is Communications Direct
>>Hi… can I ask where you got my phone number from? T-Mobile told me they never sell customer data, so how come you keep ringing me 4 times so far today?
< < We can delete your number from our system but i do need the mobile number. i do apologise for any inconvenience caused
>> Ok, but where did you get it from?
< < We have our own data base of numbers that we built up over the last 5 years that are freely available from ofcom
1st bullshit story - OFCOM do NOT give away phone numbers to anyone who asked for it. So I decided to push for more details but they kept going around my question and keeps asking for my mobile number. I didn't trust that and wanted to put that in writing so I asked for their address. They didn't give me and keeps asking for my number. I had to ask 4 tiems before theys aid they need to speak to their manager.
A few moment later, they said they will need to pass me to the customer service. So I got passed around and got to someone who was very happy to tell me more about how they work:
>> Can I ask where you got my number from?
< < Yes bear with me .. what happens we work on a national data base some of the mobile numbers that you have is pre fixed numbers and the rest of the number like the last 5 numbers of the mobile number are randomly selected from the data base..that where we get our numbers from.
>> So in other words, you just generated any random numbers and called away?
<< Yeah basically it’s a large data base that we work by … There’s 11 numbers in an mobile number and the last 5 digits are randomly selected we dont hold any personal information just a mobile number…
There you go. They do not care if the people opt-in or opt-out because you don’t have any choice, they just randomly generated the numbers and called each of them. Wonder if OFCOM is interested to know what they are doing?
Oh and I finally did get their address after 6th times of asking. And I’m going to share it with you so you don’t have to go through the hassle like I did. This is where you can write and ask them to remove your number from their so-called “database”

Has anyone gone through the same experience as me? I’d like to hear your story so I can build up some information about them.
