Yep, our house is now “Status: At Risk”

Confused? We’ll roll back to the start.

We had a day off from work as we have a gas service happening “between 10am and 6pm” - very helpful.

But it gave us the excuse to relax and tidied up around the house. I played some HL2:E2.

The guy turned up at 3:50pm and didn’t finish till about 5:30pm. He did a very good job - took apart the boiler, cleaned every single thing. Much more work done than the other guy last year who just hoovered and left.

All passed apart from one thing… the Gas Flue Terminal on the top of the roof is missing. That’s where he labeled the boiler as “Status: At Risk” and logged a call it have it replaced.

Only costs £5 for the Gas Flue Terminal but he didn’t know how much the labor would cost… not looking forward to it! Because of this, they will contact us as soon as they can to get it fixed. Hopefully soon…

My car update: Ford is fully booked till next Friday, so my aim is to use the car as little as possible until Friday for the clutch repair.

Which means I may need to use the bus service to go to work… ugh. I dislike it… because of the route it takes. By car it only takes 20 minutes but by bus it’s a good 1 hour 30 minute depending on the traffic and number of people getting on/off! No wonder people hates bus. And that means we would have to wake up even earlier!

More HL2:E2 playing and then I’m off to bed.

When Goodnight tried to pay for two bottles of Sprite with a $5 bill he was assaulted by the store clerk. Investigators said the clerk, 20-year-old Ricky Young told them he thought Goodnight was being rude by not talking to him and hit him in the head with a crowbar.

This is really scary… :/ Gooid thing I don’t live in Texas!!

Noticed Half-Life 2: Episode Two has now been released. And I’m currently downloading it via Steam.

I’m still umming and ahhing on Portal… anyone got it & played it? If so, is it worth buying?

Ignore this if you want to… it’s just my rant about companies who have their email address on their business card, brochures, leaflet, websites, etc.

And, as some of you know, I am deaf, so I can’t call them, Instead I e-mail them.

Some will work, other doesn’t, i.e. I get Undelivered mail. Others even got mailbox full.

For those’s e-mail that got through OK, I am lucky if they reply within 2 to 3 days. The worst one was 3 months and the even didn’t bother to apologise!

It’s worse when the companies are small or medium business. Larger companies are of course much better. But it does happen to them now and then.

Wake up Companies - if you have an email address, please check your mailbox more often! Otherwise, don’t publish it…

Went to Ford this morning to have the brakes fluid checked, seems ok and they topped it up free of charge. I asked them to check the leaking clutch pedal and they confirmed what I was thinking for a while - the clutch is on the way out.

So, need to find a good quote to have it replaced soon. I’ve fired off an e-mail to three companies & asked for an quote, waiting to hear back from them.

Had the robot hoover doing their job this evening in the living room and the cat was a bit scared of it, but still followed it around - was funny to watch. And no, she didn’t sit on top of it.

Going to watch some TV before heading to bed. More research on the clutch issue tomorrow.

YAY! - Spoke to T-Mobile this evening as my 18 months contract is up. And I’m going to be the new owner of MDA Vario III and they even reduced my monthly spend of £27.50 to £22.50!

BOO! - Brake light is flickering on my car’s dashboard - signs of low brake fluids - could be leaking or something else. Will go to Ford tomorrow for a quick chat.

YAY! - Been to the gym after work today, was a good session.

BOO! - Still haven’t tied up my desk.

YAY! - Thinking of replacing my car someday. Haven’t decided which one.

Time for bed.

Mmm, just baked our own lemon cake. Think we put in a bit too much lemon juice as its a bit sharp! But very nice.

Well that was quick… Already got a reply from Odeon! They said they have passed on my email to the manager.
Let see how long it will take for the manager to reply and what their answer is… .

Once upon a time, in the old days, where our local cinema were UCI Cinema in Norwich, where they always show subtitled films almost once every 2 weeks (new films).

Now that Odeon has taken over UCI, did we see improved services for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing people?

Nope!

Odeon has been showing LESS subtitled films. Sometime they will go for a full month with no subtitled films. It really annoys me. I mean, Odeon is a big company with lots of money - surely they can do it? Guess not…

I have now since sent off an e-mail to them to find out what is going on. Hopefully I will get the answer soon…

Yesterday, I spent most of the day clearing up my room finally. Piles of boxes, stuff etc has finally been sorted out, some went to trash, some went to the loft and the rest of the stuff went to the garage.  I can now see the carpet at the back of the room.

Only thing I need to do is to sort out my desk and I’m all done!

Plans for today is to visit the gym, d some shopping and maybe weekly food shopping. Just a simple day…

I know I’m a little bit late but since there are about 2 days left, I thought I’d mention it anyway…
