Home now

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

After the dinner, we went back to out office to watch one of our workmate being all drunk and I videoed it. And he became famous when I uploaded 5 videos on YouTube. Hehe. Search for my username, t1sutton and you’ll see 5 new videos. :D
Then we went to the local pub afterward for another drink and some game of pool.
Fog got heavy so I headed home early. Lots of traffic but flowing fine.
Parents decided not to turn up because of the fog, which is understandable.
One last full day of work tomorrow and then half day on friday before breaking up for the xmas holiday! Back to work on jan 3rd or so. Yay!

It’s passed.

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

Yay, my car is all good and has passed the MOT. Only two advisory - front discs are good for another 3,000 miles - somethng I’m already aware anyway and I have my eyes on a good pads and discs while the back discs are fine, it’s the pads that needs replacing soon too. And the rear bushes may needs replacing bt they said they will look at it on the next service.

So overall, that wasn’t too bad! I’m going to order the new discs next month and find someone who will fit them for me.

Waiting around…

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

Car has been in garage since half one. Was told it will take about 3 hours for the full service before they can do MOT.
Since then, we have been to two different pubs, ate and drank too. And its still not even 3 hours yet! And its bloody cold outside - even walking around are too cold. Brrr. We are going to sit in this pub until they text me when its all done.
Some of you have my text number - text me to keep me amused. Send me some jokes or anything before I go mad :)

Xmas dinner and HL2 E1

Monday, December 18th, 2006

Xmas Dinner was good and everyone enjoyed the afternoon. And we were full up!

I just got HL2 E1 downloaded via Steam and played it - so far, pretty good. I’m currently underground, just after getting off the train, which crashed. Not sure how far I am into the game but I like it. Been playing for over an hour and I’m having a break now!

Going to carry on tomorrow…

Half Life 2

Sunday, December 17th, 2006

I’ve just finished Half Life 2.

I’m currently looking at Half-Life 2: Episode One and before I buy it - does anyone think it’s a good add-on and is it well worth the purchase?

RAMBUS memory sticks

Saturday, December 16th, 2006

Following my previous posting about finding the cheapest RAMBUS memory sticks and you pointed out that it’s very costly.

And I have to say that you’re right… around £150 for a 256MB!!

I’ve given up, got the model number and headed to eBay. Nothing. Checked eBay USA and there’s one - nearly new and working condition. 2x 256MB = 512MB (it has to be dual module) and it came as £100! Plus $30 P&P, which is about £15 P&P. So the total cost is around £115. Much better…

Now I hope it will arrive next week… so I can change my main PC to the Dell computer!

Bill Gates on DRM

Saturday, December 16th, 2006

This is an interesting read on Bill gates and his thoughts on DRM (Digital Rights Management) and the future which affects videos and music.

I know I don’t do music, but I do watch a lot of videos on my computer and with the future of videos being available for watching on computer is very near, this could change the ideas of DRM.

What Happens To Your Body If You Drink A Coke Right Now?

Saturday, December 16th, 2006

This is a good read…

Have you ever wondered why Coke comes with a smile? It’s because it gets you high. They took the cocaine out almost a hundred years ago. You know why? It was redundant.

Personalised reg plate

Friday, December 15th, 2006

I spotted a nice number plate that I really liked… TSU 770N but it was at 550 pounds reserved. So I let it go.
Auction came and went. I checked again and it got sold for a cool 3,700 pounds!
Wish I had the money to buy it! Would look good on my car!

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

Garage booked for 15th Jan. Hire car will be booked on that date - no idea how long the repairs will take as they need to inspect my car.
So far so good.
