Lastnight, we went out to see a friend’s birthday party - was a good night. Everyone enjoyed it.
On the way home, my car started to make some funny noise. Stopped, stopped engine and had a look under the bonnet. Nothing obvious. Started engine again, noise returned.
Not taking the risk, I texted RAC (first time using this method) and they turned up within 20 mins - not bad at 12:30am! The guy had a look and he said the noise is more toward the back side of the engine bay. He pointed out it could be the “grey box” and when he unplugged it and the noise stopped! Plugged it in, noise did not come back. But turned off and on the engine, the noise returned.
He advised me to take it to Ford for check over, so I thanked him and drove back home slowly. Oh and amost ran over a large deer on the way back home! If I were 1 second faster, I am sure the deer would have gone through my front bonnet!
After some mad searching, TIS searching and message board posting, I think it’s something to do with the IMRC actuator controller. But then I could be wrong since it’s based on my random searching and with my little knowledge of the engine.
This morning was the same as last night - more searching. And then I dropped off the car at the garage, left the key and emailed them. Hopefully they can track down the problem by tomorrow.
Anyone got £25,000 for me so I can buy a new car?
After dropping off my car, we went to Attleborough for some quick food shopping and found a nice area in the countryside for a spot of lunch. In that 45 mins of eating our lunch, there was no one walking past or any traffic at ALL. Which was nice.
Got home in time for the England football - GO ENGLAND!!
