What a terrible traffic on M4! Took up almost 2 hours of our time of being stuck in traffic since we left this morning.

But to make it up we have the great view of the bridge from our window!

Now at oxford having a rest. The traffic between mk and oxford was very bad due to roadworks.

Having a break now.

Traffic is okayish but moving slow.

Have heard of bad traffic on M6 so we might avoid it.

Mmm english breakfast is Yummy.

Looking at the weather for the weekend, it’s going to be raining.

How lame is that? Please bring back the sun.

Bags almost packed, so should be leaving soon.

Lovely weather.

Finished half day at work today so I can prepare for the trip to Bristol tomorrow.

Went home. Checked the oil, screen wash, etc etc on my car - seems OK.

Checked the roadwork and traffic for the road I’m taking. Some roadworks, but not too bad. Have bookmarked it and transferred it to my Vario in case I need to look it up.

Hopefully I’ll be updating during the long weekend.

A bit of a rant r.e. Orange Customer services

I got the missus to contact Orange to get the PAC code.

She even told them that she is calling on behalf of myself. Orange was OK with it.

They asked for my name, address and password - gave them the details. All OK and got transferred to another dept. Got connected to them, asked for the PAC code. They said they won’t give it to her unless I speaks to them! Explained that I am deaf, they still refused and want to talk to me. Duh… not very deaf awareness!

After a bit of arguing, they said they will accept it if I said this “Sutton talking to Jane” (jane being the missus name) over the phone but as being deaf, my voice wasn’t very clear. They did say they didn’t catch what I was saying but they accepted it anyway. What was the point of that!?

Obviously, it left us distressed about their lack of Deaf Awareness and getting me to talk to them otherwise I won’t be able to get the PAC code.

I am not sure if it’s worth writing to Orange as I am (well, will be soon) no longer a customer or Orange.

Now today, the missus called T-Mobile and…

Following my rant with Orange’s poor customer services, the missus called T-Mobile today to give them the PAC code so I cna move my Orange number over to T Mobile.

As soon as she explained that I am deaf, the guy on the phone said that one of the Disablity Team will call us. She hung up the phone and the phone rang!

Picked up the phone, was greeted by the nice person called Tina. She asked for the PAC code, the details, etc and she said she will text me to ask my name, adress, date of birth and password so I can communicate with them via text message and password to prove who I am.

Replied the text message with the details and it’s all sorted. PAC code will happen in 5 working days.

How good was this? Orange doesn’t even do that!

So T-Mobile is the winner.

I’m finding them good so far. Signal are much better than Orange! I’m pleased now.

Been a while since I last updated here! I’ve been soooooooooo busy lately, I didn’t bother blogging.

Lets summary…

House

Going on okay so far. I can’t remember what I have said in the past so I’ll say it anyway. Homebuyer survey went ok, and they did find some stuff that we already knew anyway (apart from a few things but nothing too serious) Mortgage paperwork all sorted out and new bank account setup for it.

If things are going fine, I think we have about 4 weeks left till we get the key.

Work

Work are doing fine, busy doing stuff, server setup, catching up with documentations, etc. That sort of things.

My Car

Still loving my car. Need to give it a wash as it’s dirty at the moment. Need to do that before this Friday. Ohh and someone scratched the driver door side and they didn’t leave a note to say sorry! Annoyed…

New toy

I got a new toy - MDA Vario! It’s sexy and I love it. I am still looking around to find some good software to install on the phone. Anyone got this phone or some sort of PDA? If so, what software do you use?

Me

Exhausted. Not getting enough sleep. My computer went tits-up,over the weekend so I’ve been busy reformatting and reinstalling applications. It’s still not 100% right as it doesn’t “feel” right - NVIDIA drivers is being bitch and kept crashing. Need to find the old version where it worked fine.

Thinking to get Thursday off to have more sleep & relax before driving to Bristol this Friday for a long weekend, coming back home on Monday.

And that’s all. Hopefully I will resume with my regular posting soon.

But crap weather. It’s raining at the moment. I was looking forward to a sunny weekend!

Ah well.

Things to do:

* Shopping
* Committee meeting tonight

Still no news on the house front so I am going to email the solicitors and ask for an update. I think we have 4 weeks left. Not long then.

Another day gone, another day of lovely weather.

Went to the pub for drink and lunch and it was good. We sat down outside and eating/drinking.

Now waiting for missus to finish work and i am sitting in the car feeling hot. The sun is blazing hot. I wonder what the temp. for today was.

This is what I have now… - much better! It was about 2Mbps yesterday.

I’m hoping for the full 8Mbps soon - BT is still “learning” the phone line, so going to give it a few days.

I have teh power!

Written to T-Mobile regarding the credit check and trying to find out why they turned me down.

Two weeks later, got a reply from them.

They said they are unable to tell me why they turned me down but they did a review and are happy to offer me a contract! Yay!

They said I have 10 days to take up with this offer or they will do another credit check after 10 days. So I must act !fast!

I’m happy now. (well until I get the phone on my sweaty hands)
