Guess who’s back? Yep, it’s me, back from our holiday!

We enjoyed our time at Center Parcs in Thetford - weather was lovely all week and did loads of events including 4×4 driving. It was fun!

Didn’t take very much pictures because it was hard to take the pictures while doing the events, obviously. But there are some photos of our flat we stayed, and around the area, so it will be uploaded soon.

We arrived back home this morning to find loads of posts waiting for us. Mostly house stuff, so we started on that and sorted out the paperwork and drive to Norwich to give it to them personally, so it will be progressed straightaway, rather than waiting for them to receive it in the post.

So far, the homebuyer survey came back as good news, so that’s sorted. Solicitors are sorted too, and they are now starting the ball rolling. So far so good.

Going to have some food to eat and unpack our stuff.

Ice Age 2 and Packing

Sunday, April 23rd, 2006

Went to the cinema for Ice Age 2, only to be informed by the lady at the desk, saying that because the film will show lots of white area (ice, obviously) and with the subtitles as white text, it will be almost impossible to read.

So I thought it’s not worth it and made her to validate my car park ticket as free parking because we wasted our time getting there.

Oh well, looks like we’ll wait for the DVD to come out then…

We played two game of pool before heading to Sainsburys to buy some food for our holiday. Then went home to pack our clothes.

Topped up my car with more fuel, checked oil, tyres etc - all OK.

Only things we need to do is to put the bags in the car, which we will do it tomorrow morning and we’re outta here. :D

Cooking our late dinner at the moment…

O’rely?

Sunday, April 23rd, 2006

Last night was a busy day and annoyed at the same time.

In the morning, we dropped off the missus’ car for major car service and walked to the city to speak to the Solicitors but find them closed. So popped round to the bank and told them that they was shut. The man offered to contact them onbehalf of us while we’re on holiday. So that’s sorted out. This is for the house stuff.

Then we walked to the T-Mobile shop so I can move my phone contract to them. However due to “computer problem, crashing and tills not working” we waited in the queue for a long time. When it was our turn, they was very sorry for the long wait (same with other people in the queue) - we chatted, I picked the phone I liked and also the plans. I mentioned that because we has been waiting for ages, I asked to see if I could get the phone for free (£20; worth) and the lady asked the manager and he said yes. Yay.

Then we went through of filling out the details, etc, so far so good… until we got on the Credit Check page and it said it was delined! NOOOOOOOOOOO. Not sure why but I think it was down to mortgage - even that we haven’t started to pay anything! So not sure what’s going on, but the lady said there are nothing they can do about it and advised me to come back in 3 to 6 months times. Too long… :(

She gave me the addres & phone number to contact T Mobile office to find out why I got delined.

So, a chance of a new phone & contrat is not going to happen for a while. *sigh*

I got very annoyed, so we went for dinner, waiting to hear back from the garage with any repairs required and the total costs. After a while of waiting, the garage texted me, telling me what is needed to be fixed and the total costs. I told him to go ahead with it.

I knew it needed some new brake pads, but he said it was worn out to BELOW the minimum limit, along with the brake DISCS too which is below the minimum limit! Whoops… so obviously that needs to be repaired.

We wandered around for a while, waiting for them to text me when it’s done, we gave up and walked back to the garage to find they haven’t finished yet, so we waited in the waiting room, watching TV. They finally finished about 30 mins later, paid for it and drive away.

Wow, brakes much better… lol

We went to see my mum for a chat and picked up some gifts before heading home.

In the evening, I took the missus car to go to the Deaf Club, so I can get the brakes to “bed down”. There was an AGM meeting, which I am a committee and we went through of who to vote for new people, changes, etc etc etc. Was a good night including working at the bar too.

Cleaned up, locked up and went home, exhausted, but watched TV - Cliffhanger till my eyes starts to get sleepy and went to sleep, turning off the TV - ZZZZZZZZZZZZ

And now, for today. Ice Age 2 at the cinema at 11am today - we’re going to watch it. Hopefully it’s good as others are saying. Then do some shopping for our holiday, which starts tomorrow! Can’t wait…

Going to get some breakfast.

And we’re home…

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

Tottaly exhausted!!

And the bank chat took us over 4 hours… *yawns*

Anyway, the bank made an offer for the house on our behalf, with the knocked down of the asking price. They refused obviously and was worth trying. We made a 2nd offer but still knocked down of the asking price and they accepted. :D

Yeah, we’re happy now, but it’s not over yet. There are still piles of paperwork and other stuff to sort out. Hopefully around 8 weeks or less as the house is chain free and we’re not in any property.

Going to get something to eat…

Deleted Items folder

Monday, April 17th, 2006

Just had a look at my Deleted Item folder in my Outlook 2003 and there were over 12,500 emails in there! Dating as far back as 2002.

I emptied it and it took a while to get deleted! And it’s gone now. Not sure why I kept it too long. :)

My Sent Items folder contains 7,688 e-mails. Keeping it for now… might move it to archive later on.

Anyone the same?

Shops and Easter Sunday

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

Hum, yeah the shops are closed today as we noticed when we went to Norwich.

We ended up going to the video shop and the small tesco corner shop for food and then headed home.

We watched Transporter 2 and also The Chronicles of Narnia - both of them was good and we enjoyed watching them.

We got Easter Eggs for each other and we ate them. Mmm, yummy. Had yours?

Last night

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

Last night went well.

I arrived at the club a bit too early (around 6:45pm) but it gave me the time to prepare the bar and stock up drinks. The people started to arrive just before 8pm and it got busy afterward. A good night overall apart from the end of the night where we had to push people out and lock up which is as usual anyway.

So… today’s Easter Sunday so a big Happy Easter to you all. I’ve also texted-spammed to some of you too. :D

Going to head to Norwich to check out some shops to see what sort of stuff we could get if we do get the house.

Today…

Saturday, April 15th, 2006

Spent most of the morning looking through my bank account to see if we can afford the house and I think I can say “just about” to afford it. Need to get paid from work to see how much in total.

In the afternoon, we went to the town to arrange a 2nd viewing and was told that we can pop round in 30 mins.

So we waited for 3o mins and used that time to drive around the house’s area. Good so far. 30 mins was up, we went to the house, had a good look around the outside of the house.

Then, armed with questions, we went in and the lady said feel free to look around the house yourself and ask whatever questions we have. We asked loads of questions, had a chat and looked at every rooms carefully, writing down any faults/problems we spotted. Not too bad. We was in the house for over 40 mins or so.

When we was done with it, we headed to the local pub for lunch and “sit down and talk about it” - we have decided to get it if we can.

Went home, called bank to book for an chat for mortgage on Tuesday morning. We are hoping we can get the following:

1) We can get mortgage based on our money
2) Get the price dropped down a bit due to the problems/faults we found. But if they said no, we’re happy with the house price anyway but save up a bit longer to get it fixed.

So… hoping for good news on Tuesday! And yeah, we’re excited…

In the evening, I’m going to work in the bar with someone else. I’m hoping it wont be too busy. :)

A great afternoon

Friday, April 14th, 2006

Morning was spent lazying around and watching good old TV.

In the afternoon, we went for a 3.5miles walk around the countryside and I took some photos which you can find in my photo gallery - Wymondham Countryside - I think some of the photos are good which I am proud of. Can anyone who does professional photography to take a look at it and see what sort of things I should improve? I’ve tried doing close up photos of the flowers, tree, stone and grass and it came out pretty well, I think.

In the evening, we went to Norwich for dinner and talk about the house stuff.

Came back home and cleared up the house a bit, did the washing up, put away some rubbish to the bin. Boring stuff but someday it has to be done. :)

Tomorrow’s the weekend. Yay!
