Tuesday the Snowy Day

Tuesday, February 28th, 2006

Got the dead headlight bulb repaired. Wasn’t able to get the stupid plastic cover out - something was stuck fast. Even the Halfords guy couldn’t do it!! (and I didn’t pay him to do the job, oops). He said to me to go next door to a garage and they should do it for me.

I popped round there and they said they’re not part of Halfords (they’re Nationwide Autocentres) and told me to see the halfords guy again but he also said that if the refered me back to the garage, he will do it as a favour for the Halfords guy. Odd, so I popped back to Halfords, told him what he said and he told me to go back there and get them to do it anyway.

So, once again, I went round to the garage again, told him what he said and he said ok, will do it for me. Took them around 35 to 40 mins to get it swapped as he was busy faffing around with phones, talking to customers, etc but at least he finished the job without me paying anything extra… bonus!

Light looking better now.

The drive back home was terrible, lots of cars moving very slowly along A47 and A11 cos of snow. But there are nothing on the road, just water like you would see on a rainy day. *shrugs*

Same with this morning, very bad traffic. Annoying because we left really early and we still got to work late. :/ Hoping things will improve tomorrow.

*looks outside*

No snow, but it was snowing earlier. Not sure if it will snow more overnight… we’ll find out tomorrow then.

Fishing boat

Sunday, February 26th, 2006

At a pub overlooking the river, having our dinner.

The people on the boat are fishing… in the cold weather and raining! Madness.

Wiper blades

Sunday, February 26th, 2006

Fitted new wiper blades on front and rear windscreen - the old one was giving me streaks!

The new one was much better and gave me smooth wipe. :D

Going to head to the city today to buy some stuff.

Last night

Saturday, February 25th, 2006

Last night was not bad.

Parked my car on Elm Hill car park, got out, almost bumped into ghostflight and his friend. But he didn’t see me or didn’t know who I am (as he hasn’t seen what I look like anyway lol), so I texted him. His reply made me laugh… he said he was “on the mission to get to the pub” - heh, a good reply.

Got to Glasshouse and had dinner and saw a few friends. Saw guruphil and a few other people doing their geeky meetup, Norwich 2600. ;)

Left Glasshouse to head home and tried to go to sleep but didn’t sleep very well. Managed to fall asleep about 3am to 4am or so and got up at 9am. I am soooo sleepy. :(

Think we’re going shopping today or something…

DVD Night

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2006

Watched Godzilla on DVD while we was having our dinner. Good film, and made me think… what would we do if it actually happened in London?

What will the army do? Blow it up r lure it to a trap or what?

Makes you think, eh? :D

In other news, the house hunt continues…possible three houses to view this Sat but it’s 30 miles away… Thetford! It’s very cheap and it has FOUR bedrooms! But I am a little concered about the distance between Norwich and Thetford… it’s an 45 mins drive to Norwich for work and family/friends. Hmmm… but no harm in viewing, eh?

Yay!

Tuesday, February 21st, 2006

Finally, the Ford Escort has been collected and it’s nice to see the space on the driveway. :D

Three people turned up. The young guy seems excited of collecting it as he’s the guy who will be fixing it up. I’m sure he will do it no problem as he works for Ford. :D He drives an old Escort, perhaps he will swap it for mine when he finished fixing it up. :)

In other news, the chat at the building society went okay. Took us two hours to go through and got a price that we might be able to borrow. But it seems that we need to save up a bit more before making it happen. So it might be possible that we may have to put the house hunting on hold for a while or so. Wait and see…

Need food.

Sunday is almost over…

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

Bah, the guy who said he would pick up the car yesterday and didn’t turn up - he did the same for today. Here’s the history…

Tuesday: “Sorry, I’m busy”
Wed - “Sorry, can’t get a car trailer”

Agreed for Sat. But he didn’t turn up. Contacted him and he said he has some mates round for lunch. Gee, thank you for letting me know. So re-arrange for Sunday whch is today. No show. Texted him to find out what’s happening. No reply from him, but his mother replied and said he “lost the key to the truck”.

That was the final straw for me and decided not to reply to his text, re-offered the car to the other people who expressed their interest and got someone interested to pick it up on Tuesday. He works for Ford, so that’s perfect for him. :D He’s going to borrow the truck from work and collect the car.

I’m trying to think what to say to the first guy… or not bother telling him as it’s obviously he is either lost interest or too busy.

Anyway, as we was waiting for him almost all mrning and half afternoon, we headed out to Attleborough again to get out of the house. Went to Sainsburys for weekly shopping, popped round to a friend’s house to fix her laptop, which was a simple fix and headed home.

We’re cooking roast dinner at the moment and it’s starting to smell lovely. Mmmmmm.

Today!

Saturday, February 18th, 2006

Today has been a busy day.

Went to Attleborough to get some further details about the three houses and managed to arrange a viewing on two of the houses on the same day!

The first one was at 2:30pm and from outside, the house looks okay, inside was worse. Broken heating, so no heating around the house. Quoted £1,000 to repair or £2,500 for brand new. Ouch. Plus the rooms were small, with some cracks. In other words, the house is falling apart. :/

The 2nd house at 3:30pm was WOW. Very nice. But only two bedrooms, but with two living room. The garage was converted to a living room and it’s looking very nice and is within our budget. We are seriously considering that house as it ticked almost all of our boxes.

One more house viewing, hopefully if they say yes is tomorrow afternoon. So we’ll see.

Going to the bank hopefully this Tuesday to have a chat about mortgage and see how much we can get.

So, yeah a good day. :D

In the evening, we went out for dinner before heading to the Deaf Club. Not very busy but stayed there for a chat anyway.

Hope you all enjoyed your Sat!

My Car

Friday, February 17th, 2006

I’ve now owned the ST170 car for a month. And I’m loving more and more.

Was reading and discussing on a message board about this car and was told that the car was designed to accept high rpm. They say I could get it on 2nd gear and go as high as 7,000rpm to get 70mph before changing to 3rd gear.

So I did that. But not close. I got to around 60mph before changing to 3rd gear cos I chickened out. ;) But whoa, the car flies! And before you ask, I did it on the dual carrageway. :P

But yeah, it’s awesome… could feel the engine roaring like dragon and I smiled all the way… heh. ;)

Bed & TV time.
