My web hostng provider had a major network problem (via Level3) which took my server offline for 1 day and a half.

It’s just back up about 15 mins ago and my e-mails are now flowing in.

Going to ask for a refund or a free month hosting since they failed to achieve their 99% uptime policy. I’ve been with them since April 2004 and they got worse a few months ago. Yesterday & today was even worse and that was the final straw.

So I’ve ordered a new server with another provider. A bit more expensive, but with P4 3GHz, 1GB memory and 160GB HDD with 1TB of bandwidth, it’s much better than the current server we use which is a lame Celeron 2Ghz with 512MB and 60GB HDD.

Accounts are shut over the weekend so am waiting till tomorrow to see if my order will be approved because I asked them to do some sort of deals. More on this later…

I guess when the server is approved, there will be lots of work with getting the server up, securing it, put in firewalls, updating it to the latest version and then move all of our websites over to the new server before cancelling the old server. I think I am going to ask for a day off or two so I can focus to ensure that everything goes well during the move. I’m hoping this will happen in the next 2 weeks or so.

So how was your day? Ours was okay. This morning, after crawling out of the arm bed to cold air, we managed to go shopping in the city, getting some roast dinner on the way home and cooked some nice dinner and watching Top Gear while we ate our dinner. Ian wright did crazy driving and came almost to the top. Well done to him!

I’m going to wash my hair and a shave - work’s tomorrow - ugh.

Now back home after staying at my parents house and some shopping. Seems my LJ post from phone via e-mail is arriving a bit late… looks like LJ is still having problems. I posted it this morning and it just appreared this evening! So don’t get too confused if you just saw it.

While at my mum’s house, we watched two DVDs - Mindhunters and also It’s All Gone Pete Tong

Both of these films was good. I personally liked It’s All Gone Pete Tong because it almost related to what I am feeling. Recommended film to watch!

Anyone seen them yet?

Yeah, finally LJ is back up from the move between data centres. Looks like it went well according to the LJ Move blog with interesting photos and postings.

We’re soon off to my mum’s house to feed the cat before doing some shopping.

Thats where the anti freeze spray comes in!

Not sure if you can see but there are ice on grass and plants at our back garden.

Well let see… I was trying to keep warm all day!

Sepent most of the day doing up my websites and upgrading two of the message boards I manage. It went well so far.

Weather for tomorrow seems a bit better than today but it’s still cold. I have to go & feed my mum’s cat tomorrow morning, afternoon and evening as they are out to Leeds for some Xmas shopping. And we’ll do some shopping too, but maybe not for Xmas shopping. Wait and see…

I’m thinking about going to bed a bit early to wrap up and stay warm while watching TV. Yeah, that would be nice.

Good morning on a very cold day. It’s showing 10.5C in this room. No idea about outside and I don’t want to know.

Even staying in bed, trying to warm up didn’t work!! I had to get up, get changed to warm clothes and my hands are so cold, it’s hard to type this entry! I’ve turned on the heating so hopefully things will warm up soon.

Right, what should I do on my day off?

Tonight is freezing cold. I’m going to head to bed and get warm in front of the TV.

And I have a day off tomorow - yay!

Today has been a slow day again. Good thing i have a day off tomorrow. That should give me the chance to catch up with my life and finish off stuff that i have been meaning to.

Did anyone miss me? Was busy yesterday and didnt post anything at all. Is that a good or bad sign? No idea…

Anyway, hope you all are fine. We are good. Still waiting to hear about my job. The person is off pick so might be about next week. House hunting is doing okay. Need to find time to do the viewings. Oh well.

Need to renew my passport soon before they put up the price next month.
Lunch is over. Back to work.

Sleepw as good and I think I have caught up with my sleep. Getting ready to go to work (ugh) but outside is better than yesterday where it was frozen! Had to use the anti-freeze spray to clear off the windscreens. But today it seems to be ok so I don’t think I’ll have to scrape it off.
