Plans for tonight

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

Looks like tonight will be a semi-lazy night.

Just cook dinner, finish the paperwork, watch CSIs shows, laze around on the ‘net and sleep. Yeah, that sounds good.

People ’spend £1.5m’ during lives

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

Quoted from BBC News…

An average Briton will spend £1,537,380 during his or her lifetime, a survey from insurer Prudential suggests.
Housing, food and clothes are the biggest expenses, costing £552,772 on average during a lifetime.

I better stop spending so I will be a millionaire by the time I get old! ;)

Sky-High Gamers Go to Extremes

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

Another link from Craig…

The four sky divers, each clutching a wireless Nintendo DS handheld gaming device, were part of an experiment this month to discover the outer limits of the wireless capabilities of the DS and its highly touted new competitor, the Sony PSP.

Crazy people… but hey, it shows that it works! A good, heavy beta testing. ;)

Adobe translation

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

Some of you may have heard the Adobe & Macromedia being merged into one company. Their FAQ was too difficult to read and understand.

So, a guy translated it to something simile that we can understand.

Amusing read… thanks to CRaig for the link

Lunch

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

At home at the moment, eating my lunch. Ahh, how I enjoy being close to work… not for long. :( Next month, I will lose it and will have a 12 miles drive to Norwich and 12 miles back totalling 24 miles a day x 5 days = 120 miles a week to work. But that’s not too bad because I know someone who does 36 miles a day to work. Other does more.

Anyway, yeah, I will miss being close to work from home. Nevermind…

More post spam to come as I have some interesting links to post.

Morning!

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

Man, I am *so* sleepy at the moment… I didn’t sleep very well and I got up as I have to get ready for work. :/ I want to get better RIGHT NOW because I’m gettng fed up with feeling poorly.

The weather is gloomy and grey. I want the sun back as it gives out energy.

Since my post yesterday about my ADSL link going down, I’ve been monitoring the connection via MRTG - it went down between 6am and 8am yesterday, 1pm to 1:30pm yesterday, 8pm to 10pm yesterday and now 2am to 3:30am this morning. Seems to be down for around 2 hours when it happens. Really bad…

Come on BT, get your finger out of your arse and get it fixed.

mmm, dinner

Monday, April 25th, 2005

The dinner tonight was good. But they took a while to cook and bring the dinner round! Ordered about 6:50pm or so and we had our dinner at 8pm! They was sorry for the delay… bah. Still, we enjoyed it and chatted about stuff.

I’m so full up. :)

Afterward, we went to the Sainsburys petrol station to top up the car. You know the Active Kids that Sainsburys is giving out? One voucher every £10 spent.

£20 of fuel went in the car, that’s 2 voucher, right? The young, spotty kid at the till gave me 8 of these voucher… cheers mate. :) That will go to the nursery at my work. My mum gave me loads too. And from others too.

Going to faff around on the web and do soe stuff… or maybe go to sleep. *shrugs*

ADSL connection

Monday, April 25th, 2005

As some of you know, my ADSL connection has been up & down since last week. When it go down, my friends who liv es in Norwich go offline. Heck even the missus’ workplace too - their internet connection went off!

A phone call to BT was useless as they knows nothing about what is going on. I even asked them to check with tech support, but they didn’t want to.

I gave up, asked someone at Plusnet (my isp) to see if they can use their tools to check on BT database and see if there is any problem with the Norwich exchange. And yes, there is a problem with the Norwich exchange. So bad, BT called it “Major Service Outage” - looks like the upgrade went tits up, which I think is related to the DSLAM upgrade.

Gah. BT refused to tell me anything, I had to go via a 3rd party to find out what is going on. Great, eh?

Anyway, work was okay. I did get some stuff done, but was taking a while as the users didn’t return my emails, which I asked for feedback on the products they’re testing before allocating the software on many PCs. Oh well.

Tonight, we’re off out for my mum’s fiance’s birthday. I need to wrap up the present, but I don’t have any wrapping paper left! :/

What A Day!

Sunday, April 24th, 2005

Morning

Lazised around and didn’t do much till 12pm or so. :)

Afternoon

Went for a drive around, went to Sainsburys for weekly shopping, got home, started washing our clothes, washing up and cooked our roast dinner

Evening

Between 5pm and now, we’ve watched DVD - Secret Window, loads of TV shows including Farscape.

Overall a relaxing Sunday. :)

Not looking forward going back to work tomorrow. I’m all better but the glands are still there in my neck… it has been there for almost a week so far. I’m hoping it will go away soon.

April & May is the first time that my calendar are very busy with dates & schedules of things to do. Every schedule/reminder comes up, my phone vibrates reminding me. My SPV C500 is my personal assistant. :)

Last Night

Sunday, April 24th, 2005

The AGM last night went well. Lots of discussions including the number of people going to the Deaf Club was slowly getting smaller and smaller and they want new & young people to help out. They asked for new Committee members and about 6 or 7 young people volunteered including me.

Hopefully we can make the Deaf Club better in the future. First Committee meeting will be on 5th May.

Today, not sure what our plans is. Maybe carry on packing, but we had enough with it and need a break. lol. Perhaps go somewhere nice but the weather isn’t looking good at the moment.

Need brekkie now…

Norwich City

Saturday, April 23rd, 2005

Once again, Norwich has won the match - 1-0 - and have moved up in the tables. If they win the next few games, they should be fine, I think.

Here’s hoping. :)

Mum’s Garage

Saturday, April 23rd, 2005

What a day! We got there about 9am and started clearing out the garage, throwing away many old stuff and when the garage is emoty, I used the pressure washer to clear out all dirt, spiders, cobwebs, etc etc and there was a big dust pouring out of the garage. lol And it’s clean now! Bighter too and a lot cleaner than before.

Left it to dry and while we was waiting, I used the pressure washer to clean my car’s wheels. Had some drinks and then put the stuff back in the garage, in neat order. And there are loads of space now! My mum’s all happy now. :) We was done at about 12:15pm, so it’s just half of the day to do it. Not bad!

Went to Sainsburys to buy some lunch and we headed home to have some lunch. We relaxed in our back garden as it’s very lovely weather outside and we had our lunch.

I had a quick shower to clean up myself. Then we’re off to the AGM tonight and see my friends there.

I hope the weather will stay nice tomorrow. Then we can plan something to do tomorrow.

Hope you all are enjoying your day.

Morning!

Saturday, April 23rd, 2005

It’s the weekend once again!

Got up early… going to my mum’s house for the garage clearout. It’s going to be messy work! Clear out all stuff, throw away stuff that are not needed anymore. Once done, we’re going to use water pressure to blast away all dusts, cobwebs, dirts, grime, etc etc. Then leave it to dry before loading the stuff back in. Yeah, that sound like fun (and dirty!)

Think I need to pop in to Homebase to buy dust mask just in case it gets too dusty…

*checks homebase website* Ooo, it opens 8am… I’m going there now!

TFT Monitors *drools*

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

I was loking at the 17″ TFT monitors. Soooo nice.

I hoovered my mouse pointer over the “!!!BUY THIS!!!” button and had a good think… I decided not to buy it. :(

Maybe next month when everything settled down… but it’s sooooo nice & small & flat & sleek black, I need my desk space back!

*mumbles* Anyone got some money for me? I need £350. :)
