Sunday

Morning

Spent most of the morning cleaning the house a bit, took out rubbish and made myself some toast.

Did some backups of my files to my brand new DVD writer. A lot better than billions of CDs.

Afternoon

Got lazy, played a few games, slept/nap a bit.

Then went shopping for some food. And then we cooked our Sunday dinner - roast dinner! Yummy. And had desserts. Was nice too.

Evening

We rented out a DVD - Identity and watched it while having our dinner. A good film with a twist at the end.

Tomorrow - work. MONDAY! NOOOOOOOO! And I have class at 9am. Ugh. Please snow lots so we can have a day off. Please?

DVD Backup

Sunday, February 29th, 2004

I am now doing my world’s first DVD burning - 3GB of my backup data!

If it were on CD, I would need 5 x 700MB disc!

Long live DVD writer. :)

Hi!

Saturday, February 28th, 2004

Greetings LJ peeps.

Went to see my mum this morning for a chat and collect some stuff.

Home now. No bread for lunch, so I need to pop in Sainsburys to get some lunch.

Rest of this afternoon

Friday, February 27th, 2004

The rest of this afternoon was spending time at UEA, helping with an assignment. It was exciting (I think), learning how VoIP works. Then went to the canteen for some food before heading to Waitrose for some little shopping and then headed home.

The snow has been on/off all afternoon, but it looks like it started to snow heavy this evening. A white Sat tomorrow?

New Liverpool Striker joke

Friday, February 27th, 2004

I think will like this…

Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier sends scouts out round the world looking for a new striker to replace Emile Heskey, and hopefully win Liverpool the title.

One of his scouts informs him of a young Iraqi striker who he thinks will turn out to be a true superstar. So Gerard flies to Iraq to watch him, is suitably impressed and arranges for him to come over to Anfield.

Two weeks later Liverpool are 3-0 down at home to Man Utd with only 30 minutes left. Houllier gives the young Iraqi striker the nod to go on and takes off Emile Heskey.

The lad is a sensation, scores 4 in 30 minutes and wins the game for Liverpool. The fans are delighted, the players and coaches are delighted and the media love the new star. When he comes off the pitch he phones his Mum to tell her about his first day in English football.

“Hi Mum, guess what?” he says. “I played for 30 minutes today, we were 3-0 down, but I scored 4 and we won. Everybody loves me, the fans, the players and the media, they all love me”.

“Great,” says his Mum, “let me tell you about my day. Your father got shot in the street, your sister and I were attacked and beaten, and your brother has joined a gang of looters, while you were having a great
time”.

The young Iraqi lad is very upset. “What can I say Mum, I’m so sorry.”

“Sorry?” says his Mum “It’s your fault we moved to Liverpool in the first place!”

Morning!

Friday, February 27th, 2004

Got to work ok, lots of people playing snowball fight.

Yeah, snow came down pretty heavy overnight, but not as bad as last month.

But it’s enough to announce to close the College. And messages have been sent out to all the broadcasting media. Heh. All classes has been cancelled and the College will close at 12pm today.

So, we’re going home early today, w00t!

Snow Update

Thursday, February 26th, 2004

Snow came. It started at about 6pm or so and it’s still snowing but a bit of on/off. But strong enough to cover up my car and others cars in less than 2 hours.

Wonder what happens tomorrow. Only one thing I know that will happen is that I will still have to go to work. Bah.

I seriously need to get my mini CCTV set up because someone wrote some message on our garage door. Grrr. Thankfully it got cleaned off easily. (well, a bit of hard rubbing with washing up liquid)

Okay, more wiring stuff!

No Snow

Thursday, February 26th, 2004

I woke up in the morning, got up and opened the curtain and looked out of the window to find NO SNOW at all.

Good stuff. The weather news has lied to us. ;)
I stayed up till 2am last night, trying to make the camera to work with the power adapter and I finally got it to work. I had to cut the cables and swap it with something else and wrapped it up with some dodgy sellotape work. I have it with me at work so I can tidy it up with proper plastic tape (trying to remember what it’s called)

Right, better get started then.

Total Recall

Wednesday, February 25th, 2004

Just watched Total Recall on BBC 3 - classic film. Anyone seen it?

Still no snow here, so I guess a white day tomorrow is out of question. But hey, this is British weather, it could change tomorrow! ;)
A few people won some stuff on ebay, and have emailed them with payment info. Going to add more stuff soon, perhaps tomorrow or over the weekend.
