Computer Case-less!

Friday, March 29th, 2002

Copied from website

So you like modifying computer cases? So do we, but instead of drilling holes and windows out of our computer cases to install cold cathodes, fans and plexiglass, we simply left the case away this time.

NeuHausPlatz Computer Systems is proud to announce:

The NHP 200NC, a lightweight caseless PC the world has never seen before.

CleanSkinFX

Friday, March 29th, 2002

CleanSkinFX is the most powerful automatic retouch for portraits. It smooths the skin of the object while preserving all the details and crispness of hair, eyes or background. This procedure was exclusively developed by mediachance.com

CS works best on large images from digital camera or film scanners with lots of skin details.

Film

Friday, March 29th, 2002

Woke up at 7am, and watched a DVD film called “2001: A Space Odyssey” by Stanley Kubrick, which I borrowed from a few weeks ago.

What a strange film! I don’t think I’ll watch it again as it doesn’t make any sense at all.

Tomorrow - no work. Yay!

Same with Monday. Tuesday. Oh and Wed, Thrs and Fri!

So a whole week off from work. :)
I may reinstall Win2k during that time as I’ve installed so many junk.

Think I will start preparing.

Well, well…

Thursday, March 28th, 2002

Looks like my car will be off the road for a while.

This mornng, I was driving to home from work as I had the afternoon off to get something.

Then I drove back to the city. As I approached to the end of the road, joining to the roundabout and all of sudden, there was a loud bang!

I stopped the car, switched off the engine as soon as I stopped the car and switched on the hazard lights. The cars behind me was annoyed because they wanted me to move on, but I gave them “shurgging” look back to them. They reversed and moved away.

I looked down to my feets. I can see Gas pedal, Brake pedal but no clutch pedal! Yes, it’s gone. My first thought - yes, the clutch cable has snapped!

The road I’m on was narrow and the cars behind me was starting to queue up as they tried to overtake my car.

A big van came and they couldn’t get through so thye offered me to push the car to the path, so we did that and thanked him for the help.

I texted my friend and see if I could get a lift but no luck. So I asked someone, who was walking on the street to give me a hand and pushed my car to the pub’s car park. Left a note on my car and informed the landlord of the pub that my car is broken down.

I caught a bus to work, and started to work out how to get my car back home. I decided to call RAC, so after the end of work, my friend took me back to the area, went in the pub and called on behalf for me on my mobile phone and RAC was on the way.

We waited for about 30 mins and the man turned up. Not bad. He had a look at the clutch pedal and under the bonnet and he says that the cable is fine. It’s just that the connector between the cable and the pedal has broken off. It was made of plastic!

He cut it off, put on a new one, made of steel, but he couldn’t connect it to the pedal as it was different size and there was nothing he can do as the garages are shut.

So, he towed my car back home.

What a day. It was cold too.

my car

Wednesday, March 27th, 2002

talked to someone about my car and he say he could re-do the front part of my car for about £300. I think he meant a ‘dodgy job’ to fix it as he mentioned some hyridalic (sp??) powered to re-position the front part.

I said I’d think about it, but I think it’s not worth it as my car is a write off and it would be a lot better buying different car than paying £300 to fix it.

still nothing from the insurance. think i’ll bug them tomorrow.
